Combining passion and professionalism, Dead House Music’s resident (de)Composer, Mars, has built a solid reputation as a musician who consistently delivers what genre filmmakers want. On time, on budget, and stylistically on target.

 “I've had a life-long love affair with things that go bump in the night", explains Mars. "I remember being captivated by monster movies at a very young age. I saw all the classic Universal horror films on late-night television, and I was hooked. The appreciation of that gothic aesthetic has endured into my adult life, and helped shape the person I have become.”

 Mars is a multi-instrumentalist who has played with symphony orchestras, as well as jazz, metal and goth bands on tours through Canada, and the United States. He is an accomplished session musician, and recording engineer. Having grown weary of the road, Mars decided to combine his two greatest loves; music and film, founding Dead House Music in 2005.

Mars has worked with genre veterans like “Puppetmaster” creator Kenneth J. Hall (”The Halfway House”, “Night Visit”), as well as talented young directors Scott Goldberg (”All I want for X-mas”, “Nightmare”), Frank Woodward (”Lovecraft:Fear Of The Unknown”), David W. Kann (”Prison of the Psychotic Damned”, “Nyarlathotep”, “Sever”), Melantha Blackthorne (”The Graveyard Picture Show”), S.V. Bell (”Rise Of The Ghosts”, “Crawler”) and more. In 2008, his surreal and chilling score to “Witch House: The Legend Of Petronel Haxley” accompanied the films theatrical release in the UK.

 In 2009, Mars has turned his talents towards the DVD adaptation of Stephen Romano's award-winning book, "Shock Festival", and the legendary horror comic “Dead World”.

 "I have a huge black hole of love in my heart for DEAD WORLD. I read the comic religiously back in the 90's, and the new issues and stories are just as bad ass. I'm really pleased to get to contribute to the DW legacy.”
