NOTES TO PRESENT TO
STAFF ON NEXT MEETING. Some of you question what you---what we are doing. That's understandable. Because of our Judeo-Christian heritage, many of you have looked for a higher power to right things. You've looked for miracles and prayer to guide you. Because of the tradition of our country, we've looked to the individual to exert an influence...we respected the rights of each person to have the pursuit of life and liberty...we believed that everyone had an equal right to exist. But it is exactly that kind of thinking that will lead us to extinction unless we can change. Mankind has made a mess of this earth. We pollute the water and then sterilize it so we can use it. But now we have no sanitation system. We've deleted the ozone so the sun is now a constant enemy, we've destroyed most of the trees which feed oxygen to the world, we've built toxic waste sites which leak into the very soil that we depend on. But mankind has not only damaged the earth, we've damaged ourselves. There has been too much dilution in the gene pool. Science has tried to play the role of a God and preserve life when nature had determined certain people should die. Our defense mechanisms are gone, our ability to weed out the weak and let only the strong survive is gone. All other animals, especially the insects have shown us what nature intended. The weak are meant to be destroyed, for it is they who carry the recessive genes we must wash out of our systems. By letting them survive as science and society has dictated, we are killing ourselves. We must change. We must think of mankind as one, not individuals. We must do what is best for mankind, not for a man. We must sacrifice some to preserve all. It is our only hope against extinction. |
