GARY REED, WRITER
Previously, was the Publisher of Caliber Press, and VP of McFarlane Toys. Writer
of over 200 books, graphic novels, and comics. Most material is based on
literary works, historical events, and biographical fiction. Nominated for
numerous industry awards (Eisner, Harvey, Jack Kirby, etc) as writer and
publisher. Caliber was a successful publisher of books and comics through the
1990;s and released over 1,400 titles and introduced some of the top talents in
the business today.
Most well known work includes RED DIARIES- a conspiracy saga involving
Marilyn Monroe and JFK; BAKER STREET- a punk murder mystery; SAINT
GERMAINE- an immortal who lives forever and steals the memories of the
dying; DEADWORLD- a look at a apocalyptic future where the dead come back
to life; RENFIELD- about the bug eating inmate in Dracula; PUFFIN CLASSIC
GRAPHICS novels- adaptations of Dracula and Frankenstein for
Penguin Books; SPIRIT OF THE SAMURAI- young adult novel series from
Actionopolis, TROY- the saga of the great war; and many others.
In addition to writing, Gary teaches a variety of Biology courses at different
Community Colleges in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area.
FRAZER IRVING, ARTIST
Frazer Irving was born in England and
established himself as a horror artist with his work in 2000AD, NECRONAUTS
with writer, Gordon Rennie. He also had success with STORMING
HEAVEN, the SIMPING DETECTIVE, and FROM GRACE. He has
worked on a number of illustrations for role playing game companies such as
Wizards of the Coast, Hogshead Publishing, and Guardians of Order.
Frazer utilizes extensive line work with a
computer driven edge. His latest work is KARION THE WITCH BOY and
he is also working on GUTSVILLE. A major project that will
introduce him to more U.S. readers is SILENT WAR, a mini-series featuring
the Inhumans with writer David Hine. He has also illustrated IRON MAN
and HELLBLAZER.
He has won a number of awards including the
National Comics Award for Best New Talent, the Diamond Comics Award for
Best New Talent, and the Graphic Novel of the Year award from
Diamond Comics for NECRONAUTS.
